Feminine Style Guide for Spring

Spring is one of my favorite seasons in regards to style!

The weather is just warm enough for wearing dresses without having to put on tights or a coat, whilst still being able to do some layering with cute knitwear during the chillier spring-days. It´s the time of year in which we start putting more color back into our wardrobes and just enjoy the change of seasons after the winter months!

In this blog post, I´ll be giving you my spring style guide for if you want to dress in a more feminine way, but maybe don´t exactly know where to start, or are just looking for some inspiration for this season!

Grab yourself a warm cup of coffee or your favorite spring-time tea and let´s begin!:

Play around with colors:

Don´t be afraid to try out different color-combinations with your outfits and see what works for you!

A tip that has helped me a lot in choosing which colors to wear together is using color theory and just looking up which colors go well together and then combining different outfits with that in mind and determining weither I like the combos or not!

Get a seasonal color-analysis:

By looking at your eye-, hair-, skin-color and overall features, you can determine which colors suit you best. There are lots of specialists out there that do color analysis on location, or you can take a test online. It can be quite a helpful tool if you aren´t sure which colors suit you best.

Of course the most important thing will always be the way you feel while wearing certain colors. So even if your color analysis-test told you that black doesn´t suit you for example, but you love wearing the color black, then definitely still wear it! Tools like these are meant to help you choose the colors that suit you best, but you don´t need to follow these recommendations to a T.

Opt for flowy / light fabrics:

Fabrics like linen, cotton or even silk are perfect for spring.

Linen is great because of it´s temperature regulating qualities. It´s also very durable and eco friendly, which is a big plus.

My absolute favorite brand for linen clothing is SondeFlor. They´re a lithuanian based slow-fashion brand with the most beautiful cottagecore / vintage inspired designs!

Here are a couple of the dresses I got from their shop and love:

Flower Prints:

Now that all the beautiful flowers are popping up again after winter, adding more flower-prints to your wardrobe is such a lovely way to dress according to the season!

Here are a couple of flower-print dresses and skirts I´ve been eyeing for this season (they´re all sooo cute!):

Bags:

If you´ve read my recent blog post, you know that The Secret Garden is one of my all-time favorite books and since it´s such a spring-time read, I had to include what is probably the most perfect bag to ever exist! (Well, in my opinion at least ^^)

WellReadCo is a brand that creates bags that look like books, so you can carry around the bag-version of your favorite novel!

The Secret Garden Book-Bag is a must-have if you love the book as much as I do!

If you want to get one for yourself, don´t miss out on my code VINTAGE for 10% off your order at WellReadCo!

Cardigans:

To keep warm during the chillier spring-days, layering with a cardigan is so cozy and cute!

I love pairing my dresses and skirts with shorter cardigans that stop at the waist! When they´re a little longer, it can create a bit more of a boxy look, which is not always very flattering in my opinion. On the other hand, if a cardigan is the same leangth as your dress, skirt or pants, it can also look great! The one I´m wearing on the right is from SimpleRetro. The one on the left is from H&M.

Footwear:

Ballerina flats go with almost everything and make any outfit look so much more feminine!

One of my favorite brands to shop ballerina flats is vivaiaofficial.

Their shoes are made of recycled plastic and are so so comfy!

In case you are interested in getting yourself a pair, you can use my code elaine15 at checkout for 10% off your order!

I´ve been wearing mine for years now and even after washing them in the washing-machine multiple times, they´re still holding up very well!

Accessoires:

Everything floral adds a lovely, feminine touch to any outfit for spring! Floral earrings, necklaces, bracelets, headpieces, etc.

One of the brands I love to buy floral accessoires from is Selenichast Jewel

They have a lot of animal-themed earrings aswell, which are super cute!

Bows:

Who decided that bows were only for children to wear?

Hair-Bows are becoming more and more popular and I´ve been seeing lots of women wear them recently. Especially white and black ones, but there are so many different styles you can choose from.

One of my favorite brands for bows is Magaela Accessoires. They make hand-made accessoires using fabric and dried flowers. The bow I´m wearing in the picture on the left is from their shop too.

Another cute and more low-key way to wear bows is to tie off your ponytail with a sash! You can buy these in normal fabric-stores and then cut the sash into the leanght you want to have it. What I do is either glue the edges down or carefully use a lighter on the ends to avoid fraying of the fabric.

I think adding bows to your hair is such a lovely way to romanticize any outfit!

Most importantly:

All of these tips and recommendations aside, the most important thing in regards to style and the clothes you wear will always be the way they make you feel. Wear whatever makes you feel beautiful, confident and comfortable and take any advice with a grain of salt! You are the only person who knows what style is best for you physically (and mentally).

Thank you for reading! I hope this feminine style guide for spring left you with some inspiration to go out and get yourself some lovely new outfits to add to your wardrobe and gave you some style ideas for this season!

Sending lots of love and coziness your way.
